BREAKING: Armed Robbers Chop Off Teacher’s Hand in Brutal Kano Attack
Kano, Nigeria — A shocking act of violence has left a school teacher severely injured after suspected armed robbers allegedly cut off his hand during a late-night attack in Bunkure Local Government Area of Kano State.
The victim, identified as Isah Sallama, was reportedly attacked along a quiet road in the Funkuyi area of Buran district. According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants believed to be motorcycle-riding robbersbwere in the process of robbing another individual when the teacher intervened.
In what has been described as an act of courage, Sallama attempted to assist the victim. However, the situation quickly escalated when the attackers turned on him.
Sources revealed that the robbers initially tried to shoot the teacher, but their weapon failed to discharge. In a horrifying turn of events, they resorted to using a machete, severing one of his hands before fleeing the scene.
Following the attack, the teacher was left in critical condition due to the severity of his injuries. He was rushed to a nearby medical facility, where he is currently receiving urgent treatment.
Medical personnel are said to be working to stabilize his condition, as concerns remain high over the long-term impact of the brutal assault.
The incident has drawn condemnation from traditional authorities, including the Rano Emirate Council, which confirmed the attack.
The Emir of Rano strongly denounced the act, describing it as barbaric and unacceptable. He also called on security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and curb the rising wave of criminal activities in the region.
As part of immediate support, the Emir reportedly donated ₦100,000 to assist with the victim’s medical expenses.
