Ogun Police Rescue 9 Foreign Nationals, Arrest 2 Suspected Members of Transnational Fraud Syndicate in Owode Egba
The Ogun State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit has successfully rescued nine foreign nationals who were allegedly held captive by a suspected transnational fraud syndicate operating within the state.
According to security reports, the operation led to the arrest of two suspects identified as Stephen Kwame and Abubakar Sulaimon. The suspects were apprehended at a hideout located in Owode Egba, where the victims were reportedly being detained against their will.
Preliminary findings suggest that the suspects may be linked to an organized criminal network involved in cross-border fraud activities. The rescue operation was carried out after intelligence-led tracking by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, which located the suspects’ hideout and successfully freed the victims without further harm.
The rescued foreign nationals have since been placed under protective care while authorities begin further investigation into the circumstances surrounding their abduction and detention.
The police command has assured the public that efforts are ongoing to dismantle criminal networks operating within Ogun State and to ensure all those involved are brought to justice.
